B-Girl Be Summit

B-Girl Be is goin on, so I had to take some pics of the great pieces goin up! This first one (26th and Lyndale on the side of the laundromat) had a lot goin on: no war, skulls, a voice bubble with "wife!"

While I was there I had to see what was new around Robot Love:

Over at Intermedia they were still working. OMFG these girls rock! Artists I saw working include Siloette and Shiro...

See, this is the kinda stuff that makes Mpls unbeatable in the summer (humidity and all)!

LynLake, Mpls

Hmm, 1st of all, I'm not sure if I should share, but I found some competition while googling something...of course I think my pics are better so I guess I will share. They do have some great pics though...

There are so many pieces by 27 around right now it's crazy, here go a couple (the fist is next to Intermedia Arts, the second behind Tatters):

There is some crazy stuff behind Intermedia, here are just a couple of pics (I especially like the tagged up grill):

I don't know what Queertopia is, but I know a lot of people who probably like to find out!:

I couldn't resist this pic of the goofy Galactic Pizza electric car, maybe I was just under the influence of the Pizza Bianca that D. and I had just finished, mmm:

Midtown Greenway, Mpls

The Greenway is a nice quiet bike/walking path through southwest Mpls with lots of nice community gardens and flowers and such, but of course that stuff doesn't interest me...

You might have to look at the bigger version of this one (just click on the pic) to get a good look at this little guy drawn on the bike...

Above are stickers for Rockstar Games, local hip-hop group Traditional Methods (who I've seen live a couple of times, not too bad), disbanded Atlanta hip-hop group Micranots (who featured I Self Divine, see Rhymesayers), and Lyle Signs Inc (ok, that's pretty funny)...

I'm not sure if this 'Impeach' is related to the 'Impeach the Beast' pic I took a while ago (see the May '06 postings)...also, most of these old bridges are from 1912 - 1914, that's pretty cool...

This looked like some weird mix of gang graffiti and a goofy tag...

The fence seperates the pathes from the old railroad tracks, supposedly there will be light rail or something running down there someday in the distant future...

Someone wrote 'stop' on this stop sign, not sure if they were trying to be funny or helpful or are angry at the people who don't stop and almost run you over...

PS - I discoverd that if you skateboard on the Greenway, bikers and city workers will stare at you!

Marine on St. Croix, MN

Marine is really one of the cuter villages (they insist on calling it a village not a town) in Minnesota, and it's along Hwy 95 which is one of the cuter drives in the state, too. They even used to have a town dog!

Yes, they still have a general store (ok, it's more of a kwik-e-mart)...

I think they mean 'watch for children,' but I could be wrong...

The Fire Fighters Ball for the all volunteer force was being held right in the middle of Main Street, how small town is that...

These next two are pics of the brook that runs under the Brookside Bar & Grill, which has some awesome burgers, a good beer selection, and is huge with bikers and motorcyclists. You can tell that the brook was running extremely fast due to thunderstorms the night before:

I also managed to find a tag in this super quaint town! It's on the sign for a very good little ice cream shop:

And of course, it wouldn't be small town Minnesota without at least one rusted old pickup with a Wall Drug bumper sticker and expired tags:

From the Archives: More Seattle

This was a pretty funny recruitment campaign by Google, figuring out the website led to another puzzle that, when solved, gave people the address to send their resume to (7427466391, by the way. Igoogled it.):

I loved this stoplight, I couldn't quite figure out when it dates back to, but it was pretty awesome to get this shot with the Smtih Tower in the background:

The observation deck of the Smith Tower looking towards the Space Needle. The Smith used to be the tallest building west of the Mississippi, has a pretty cool Art Deco decor and cool Chinese Room, and someone lives in the pyramid on top!

The 5 Spot Cafe in Queen Anne, Mmmm:
